Realtor arrested for attempt to molest minor girl
The police arrested a 36-year-old realtor for attempting to kidnap and molest a 12-year-old girl at Pattabiram on Thursday.

The police said, the girl studying in Class 6 was returning from school and was crossing the Thandurai bridge when she came across B Pandiaraj (36), who is known to the girl and her family. The accused is a resident of Annai Theresa Street, EVR Nagammai Nagar Main Road. The realtor approached the girl and claimed that he knew where her father was and offered to take her to him on his two-wheeler.
The girl accepted the offer and when the vehicle passed a construction site, Pandiaraj stopped the vehicle at West Gopalapuram in Pattabiram. The accused took the girl inside and attempted to molest the her. Hearing her screams, neighbours entered that site and rescued the girl. They also apprehended Pandiaraj and alerted the police.
The girl was taken to the Avadi all women police station, while Pandiaraj was detained at Pattabiram. On Friday, even though the family withdrew the complaint against Pandiaraj, the police, remanded him under Section 7(1)(a) in The Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932.
Man held for stabbing wife
A man was arrested on Thursday for stabbing his wife after suspecting her of infidelity. Sivakumar (43) stabbed Hemalatha (34) on her chest after suspecting that she was involved in a relationship with his friend. The couple lived on Rangasamy Street, Nagalkeni in Chrompet.
On Thursday night, Sivakumar picked a quarrel with Hemalatha and stabbed her. She was rushed to government Chrompet hospital, from where she was referred to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Her condition is said to be stable. The Chrompet police took Sivakumar into custody. The police filed a case and are conducting further investigations.
