Many of her sympathisers feel that her decision was wrong as OPS has lost his chief minister post. The total absence of supporters outside her T Nagar residence stands as a proof for this despondency, a source added.
It may be recalled that AIADMK cadre, especially the youth, formed Deepa Peravais in different parts of the state on their own by collecting signatures of those supporting them. Also, supporters besieged her house daily urging her to enter politics and stop Sasikala from hijacking the party.
Deepa herself wanting to gauge the public mood first proposed to tour the state before announcing her decision on Feb 24, Jayalalithaa’s birthday. But Deepa’s sudden support to OPS created confusion among her supporters. However, sources close to Deepa said, “Only after she makes her stand clear on Feb 24, everybody will come to know the fate of the peravais.”
