Students claim that practising model papers on apps was immensely helpful. “Previous years question papers are easily available on apps. In the event that we get stuck in solving a problem, the app also provides the solution for the answers,” says Sumit Mitra, who is writing the Class 12 CBSE exam.

He further adds, “Apps like ‘Meritnation’ has a collection of sample papers along with the answers. Apart from this, it allows students to form social groups to prepare together. Another app that my friends and I use is the ‘myCBSEguide’ that provides a combination of study material and sample papers.”

The scope for apps go beyond the Board examinations. Some students even use apps for preparing for competitive examinations. “I use Toppr app to prepare for both the Board exams as well as for NEET,” said Gomathi S. Saravanan Sundaramoorthy of Skill Angels, a firm that develops games with an academic twist says, “Our games help students in improving their reasoning and thinking capabilities.”
