OPS names Madhusudanan as RK Nagar candidate

With the Sasikala group already fielding TTV Dinakaran and former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar planning to enter the contest representing the newly formed MGR Amma Deepa Peravai, Madhusudanan’s jump into the fray has made the only other candidate to matter, DMK’s Marudhu Ganesh, weakest among the lot.

Madhusudanan is an old war horse having seen victory in the same constituency in 1991. Being from Washermenpet, parts of which belong to the constituency, it was expected that he would be successful as he personally knows many told timers in the area. The youth would also be able to relate to him as he is the party presidium chairman. 

But what worries AIADMK is that rival faction candidates might split the party vote favouring the DMK. While OPS faction feel that the anti-Sasikala feeling among the electorate, especially women will move the votes in their favour, Deepa might cut into their vote share as well.
