Woman held for stealing gold, sarees in Pondy Bazaar

Police began searching for the woman after Nizamuddhin, manager of a jewellery showroom, lodged a complaint alleging that she had stolen a one sovereign earring from his showroom pretending to be a customer. CCTV footages from the showroom revealed that a woman, Nishandhi (24) of T Nagar, stole the earring. 

Police arrested her and recovered 40 sovereigns of gold jewellery and two silk sarees from her possession.
