Exam flop: Girl ends life

The victim Risheela, daughter of Varghese from Nateshan Nagar, Ramapuram, after realising that she had failed to pass the board examination, poured kerosene and set herself ablaze. Hearing her cries, the neighbours rushed to her house and extinguished the flames. They later shifted her to Kilpauk Medical College hospital in a very serious condition. 

Risheela was admitted with severe burns. She did not respond to treatment and died later in the afternoon. Rayala Nagar police have registered a case and further investigations are on. Police said the girl did not talk to anyone after checking her results and took the extreme step.
