Cop arrested for container heist in 2016

The arrested cop, identified as Prakash, is a head-constable attached to the Flower Bazaar police station. The armed robbery took place near Tiruvottiyur on May 26, 2016, and the case was being pursued by Tiruvottiyur Police, who initially claimed to have solved the case following the arrest of a seven-member gang in June 2016. 

Further probe revealed Prakash’s role in plotting the container heist. He was subsequently taken into custody by Tiruvottiyur Police, and was remanded in judicial custody.
