Based on the confession of main accused Vinod, police arrested Arunagiri (36) of Mylapore, Dinesh (24) and Ajithkumar (23) of Thiruverkadu and Sandip (24) of Kodambakkam. They were nabbed when the other three visited Arunagiri’s house at Mylapore. During the inquiry, they were said to have admitted that they were

hired to kill Kesavan.

Police said that they were on the hunt for five more persons involved in the crime. Meanwhile, advocate Kesavan, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, showed signs of recovery, though he is yet to speak. Vinod was hired by Kesavan’s relative Ganesan from Periyapalayam to settle scores over property issues with the advocate. Ganesan took the help of the gang to murder Kesavan.  In a shocking incident, the gang hacked Kesavan in full public view on Kamarajar Salai near the Marina on June 19, when he was returning on his two-wheeler  after dropping his children at school.
