Police arrested Sivabalan Kathiresan (49), owner of Vaishnavi Marriage Bureau at Valasarawalkam, who is a resident of 2nd Cross Street, New Colony, Chromepet.

Police arrested Sivabalan following the complaint from the woman employee, who told the police that Sivabalan had not paid them salaries for the last two months and when they demanded their salary, he told them that he had recorded their bedroom sequences using a CCTV camera secretly installed inside their house and those scenes would be released on internet. The woman complainant told the police that Sivabalan had given a cheque for two months salary due to the couple but when they presented  the cheque, it bounced due to insufficient balance.

When the couple went to Sivabalan to enquire about this, he threatened them and told them that he would release the scenes on the internet if they did not cooperate. The woman then lodged a complaint with the Valasarawalkam police. Police then checked the CCTV recordings of Sivabalan and found intimate scenes of  the couple in his possession. Police then arrested Sivabalan and remanded him in judicial custody.
