Woman dies in freak accident in Koyambedu

The woman, identified as Sumathi (37), a native of Perambalur, who was sleeping on the rear seat of the bus, was thrown from her seat when the bus driver did not slow down on a speed breaker and she hit her head against the steel pillar. 

The Koyambedu traffic investigation police have arrested Jayaraman (53), the bus driver, who also hails from Perambalur. 

Police said Sumathi, who works in the revenue department at Perambalur, boarded the bus to Chennai on Thursday night as she was to undergo treatment for a medical condition here.
