The main accused, Subbulakshmi, wife of retired ADGP Dhukkaiyandi, was arrested in 2012 and released on bail. Subbulakshmi created fake General Power of Attorney in the name of Dhanalakshmi for 10-acre land in Panaiyur near Chennai which originally belonged to two Mumbai-based men. Later, she made Tamilarasi appear as Dhanalakshmi and got the land registered in her name and her daughter Yamini’s name.
Tamilisari is mother of Yamini, who is married to Subbulakshmi’s brother Rajan. Based on the complaints of land owners Upendra Motilal and Rajaiah, police arrested Subbulakshmi, while Tamilarasi went into hiding. However, the special police team traced Tamilarasi to her daughter Kalpana’s house. During the interrogation, Tamilarasi is said to have signed the documents as Dhanalakshmi believing Subbulakshmi’s words. However, since Tamilarasi’s health condition doesn’t allow her to travel to Chennai for investigation, she was given bail on assurance that she should appear for investigation whenever required.
