Ganja found in Howrah Mail at Central station

Around 10 kg of ganja was seized from an abandoned suitcase in a train at the Chennai Central station on Friday.

Government Railway Police sources said following information from a porter that a suitcase was found  abandoned in the general  compartment of the Howrah Mail, which arrived at Platform no 8 at 4:45 am, a bomb detection and disposal squad team was summoned, which opened the suitcase and found packets of white powder, which were later confirmed to be ganja. Police suspect that the contraband was transported from Andhra Pradesh. A case has been registered and a probe is on to identify the culprits.
