Two-way traffic to resume on EVR Salai near Ega
In a major relief to commuters using Poonamallee High road, the stretch of EVR Salai between Gengu Reddy subway and Ega junction, which was made one way in 2011, will revert to two-way traffic from August 6, in view of completion of Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) work. Entry of vehicles from Gengu Reddy Subway Junction towards Ega will be allowed.

Vehicles coming from Gengu Reddy subway towards Dasaprakash will be allowed between 4 and 5 pm. From 7.30 am to 4 pm, vehicles have to take a right turn at Spur Tank Road-P.T School junction and proceed via Egmore High Road, Udippi Point and Nair Bridge.
Vehicles reaching Gengu Reddy Subway-EVR Salai junction, have to take a U-turn at Burnaby Junction to reach their destination.
Also, from Flowers Road junction, vehicles cannot take right turn to reach Ega Junction anymore. Instead, they have to take U-turn at Gengu Reddy subway junction to reach Ega. Vehicles coming from Gengu Reddy subway junction intending to reach Vasu Street cannot take a right at Ega junction.
Those vehicles should reach Tailors Road and take a U-turn to reach their destination.
