AR personnel attacked by drunk men on the Marina
An Armed Reserve police personnel, who asked three men drinking on the Marina to vacate the spot, was attacked by the trio on Monday.

The incident took place around 7 pm and Agilan, who was on beach patrol, suffered injuries in his hand.
Police said that Agilan noticed three men, who were identified as P Hariharan (21), Dinesh and Sathish, consuming liquor on the Marina near the Kannagi statue and warned them to leave the place immediately. However, the trio was still there with liquor bottles in their hands. Irked, Agilan asked them again to leave the place but the three men got into an argument with him. He immediately alerted the control room and was trying to catch hold of the trio.
But hearing the siren, the three men tried to get off the clutches of Agilan and slashed his hand with a knife and threw sand on his face.
While the patrol vehicle chased and caught Hariharan, the other two managed to escape. During interrogation, Hariharan of Anna Nagar said that he had dropped out of college. The Anna Square police have registered a case and are in search of the duo.
Man collapses near TTD temple, dies :
A 40-year-old man who was passing by Venkat Narayana Road in T Nagar on his two-wheeler suddenly collapsed and died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Munishwaran of Ramapuram. He is said to be a seller of electronic equipment at doorsteps. Mambalam inspector Ayyappan retrieved Munishwaran’s body near the TTD temple and sent it for post mortem to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
