DP Sivasakti Balan, Principal, KRM Public School, said, “We have already alerted students to stay away from these dangerous games. We have informed the parents to look out for signs and seek help if they see their ward behaving in an odd manner.” Meanwhile, the CBSE issued circulars to all schools and asked them to install effective firewalls, filtering and monitoring software mechanisms in all computers.

Some schools say that installing the firewalls in schools alone may not be effective. “We can only control what they access in school but they spend most of their time at home. The parents should closely monitor the activities of their children,” a correspondent of a school in Vadapalini said.

“We have received an SMS about the dangers of this game from my son’s school. We will keep a close watch on his activities,” said Anju Kumar, mother of a 14-year-old.
