TANGEDCO signs MoU with Mahindra Tech Park

TANGEDCO (TN Generation and Distribution Corporation) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mahindra Tech Park in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at the secretariat on Tuesday.

The MoU under the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ scheme entails that TANGEDO will set up sub-stations on land provided by business entrepreneurs. The corporation will provide cost feeder stations to provide uninterrupted power to industrial units, an official release stated.

Industrial units would also be permitted set up transformers and related accessories on their own land. If industries need source of supply, this would be provided through a second feeder station, it added. 

The feeders would be provided with digital meters to receive power round the clock to all industries which need power, the release stated. 

Under the MoU, the corporation would set up a 110 Kv sub-station for the tech park at Gumidipoondi and feeder stations at its own cost. A facilitation cell has also been set up by the corporation to ameliorate the power related grievances of industrial houses. 

Electricity minister P Thangamani, TANGEDCO chairman M Saikumar, chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, Mahindra Techn Parks CEO Sangeetha Prasad and business head Shyam Kalyanasundaram were present at the meeting, the release ended.
