“I have known the family for so many years, as his father Balakanna and I have been good friends. I have seen the boy since his birth. His death has come as a great shock. He was so young. This has created a hollow for his loved ones. I myself am so hurt and so imagine how pained his parents must be. Though this may be an ‘international issue’ for the rest of the world after it was reported in Finland and India, but for us, it is a big wound.”
The Chennai-based Tata Consultancy Services employee had gone missing on September 8 in Helsinki in Finland. His body was found on Thursday afternoon in the waters off Hernesaari beach by the local police, and it was confirmed on Friday that it was his body.
A resident of George Town in Chennai, he has been in Finland since February 2016 and suddenly went missing two weeks ago. He had been working for TCS since 2013. A TCS spokesperson said, “We are devastated by the incident, and wish to express our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
However, as the case is under investigation by the Finnish police, we cannot discuss the topic in any further detail.
However, we are in constant touch with the associate’s family and will provide whatever help they need.” He was known to have last spoken to his mother on the evening of September 8.
