25-year-old history-sheeter hacked to death over affair

Police sources said that the deceased Vinod Kumar was administered some drugs before he was murdered by his friends.  On Sunday morning, residents noticed the body with injuries at the railway ground at ICF and informed the police. 

The police team, which rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the government hospital for autopsy. Police said the deceased was known as ‘Kurangu’ Vinoth in the locality and many cases, including a murder and robbery, were pending against him. 

“Vinoth had challenged one of his friends that he would elope with the latter’s sister. This seems to have infuriated the friend who decided to eliminate him. And accordingly, Vinod was given a narco injection on Saturday night after which he was hacked to death,” police sources said. We have identified the suspects and also recovered a syringe used to inject the drug. 

A 14-year-old school boy fell from the terrace of his apartment complex in Koyambedu on Saturday afternoon and died of injuries in a private hospital later. Police said that Agasthian, son of Sivashankaran, a Central government employee, studying in Class 7 at a private school, slipped from the terrace while playing with his friends. Neighbours and other residents rushed him to a private hospital where he died.
