TN CM Palaniswami inaugurates research & training facility at Vandalur Zoo
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated a research and training facility at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park at Vandalur, besides naming a lion cub.

The facility, set up an estimated Rs 7.13 crore, will take up research on subjects, including on endangered animals and their reproduction, besides suggesting ways and means to address man-animal conflict.
Palaniswami, besides inaugurating the facility, also chaired a meeting of the Zoo Authority of Tamil Nadu where it was decided to upgrade the Zoological park at Vandalur, Guindy Children's Park and Salem Kurumbapatty Park at an estimated Rs 9.12 crore, an official release said.
He named a lion cub born in this zoological park as 'Vishnu,' it added.
Another release said, the chief minister launched a series of initiatives in different parts of the state through video conferencing on Wednesday.
This included inauguration of various school buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 171 crore in different parts of the state, it said.
