Daughter, son-in-law held for murder of woman in Mangadu
Mangadu police have cracked a four-yearold murder case of a 50-year-old woman and arrested her son-in-law and daughter.

The accused, Suryakumar (32) suspected the conduct of his mother-in-law Kasthuri and killed her by hitting with a stone on her head in 2014, said police. Later, Suryakumar told about the murder to wife Ammu, who hid the facts, and lodged a complaint with the police.
The case was reopened recently and police started monitoring the movements of Suryakumar and detained him on Sunday. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to having murdered his mother-in-law. Suryakumar and Ammu were remanded in judicial custody.
MBBS student commits suicide
A second year medical student of Madras Medical College, Savjenia, committed suicide unable to concentrate on her studies. Her father Parthiban owns a medical shop. Police said that though Savjenia was not interested in medicine, she did so due to pressure from her parents.
On Sunday night, she fought with her parents and locked herself and did not return. On suspicion, her parents went to check and to their shock, she was found hanging from the ceiling.
