Realtor’s properties damaged for refusal of Rs 10 Lakh ‘Deepavali gift’
A history-sheeter allegedly damaged the properties of a realtor in Vandalur-Otteri Extension on Thursday after the latter refused to part with Rs 10 lakh which he demanded as Deepavali gift.

The accused, Silambarasan, is said to have been released on bail for 10 days in a murder case and allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from Dayalan as Deepavali gift. Since Dayalan said he did not have so much in cash, Silambarasan and 10 others reached Dayalan’s house on Wednesday night and ransacked the house and vehicles.
Dayalan who was alone at the time of the incident escaped unhurt as he had locked the metal gate of the house from the inside. Later, Dayalan informed the police control room over phone, but Silambarasan’s team escaped before could reach him. A search for the accused has been launched.
