Maruthu Ganesh, in an elaborate representation made with the Chief Election Commissioner, copy of which was circulated to the media, said, “The EC should desist from announcing a schedule of elections to Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency without first prosecuting the offenders (named by the I-T department’s report dated 8.4.2017, which was the basis for the EC to rescind the elections on 9.4.2017) and bring them to the book.”
Ganesh has called upon the EC to implement its April 9 and 18 dated orders in true letter and spirit and carry out its constitutional and statutory duties faithfully, truly and diligently. He also asked the commission to take all efforts to alter the FIR pending on the file of Abhiramapuram police station by reflecting the names of all the accused found in the I-T report and to monitor the same.
Alleging that the EC was not serious with its orders issued in April last and prosecuting the offenders, the erstwhile DMK candidate, who had also sought compensation from the commission, threatened to the move the court if the commission failed to provide necessary relief.
