Non-stop power: MoU signed

Tangedco signed an MoU on Wednesday with GMR, Krishnagiri SEZ Limited, for extending uninterrupted power supply in the presence of Electricity Minister P Thangamani.

“GMR, Krishnagiri SEZ, is in the process of developing an industrial area for a demand of 240 MVA at Udanapalli in Krishnagiri district and already gifted 15 acres of patta land to establish a 230 KV Substation at the village. Tangedco will establish a 230 kV Sub-Station in the land provided by the company,” an official statement said. 

Further, Tangedco had introduced the facility of payment of LT CC through point of sales machine of banks in addition to existing facilities such as net banking, mobile banking, mobile applications, payment gateway from bank branches. 

On account of the prevailing power surplus situation in the State and with a view to encouraging industrial growth under ‘ease of doing business”, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had launched a new scheme of signing MoU with industries on September 5 for extending uninterrupted power supply to the industrial consumers. 

Vikram Kapur, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, M Sai Kumar, Principal Secretary and Chairman cum Managing Director of Tangedco were present during the meeting.
