Also, he was finding it difficult manage his finances as the police and ED had attached all his property, police sources said here, which was corroborated by don’s cook Devendran. A police official, familiar with the background of the case, noted that the family members, including Sridhar’s wife, son and daughter always pointed fingers at the don.
“They said they had been doing what Sridhar had told them to do and just signed on dotted lines. We don’t think his son has any interest to step into his father’s shoes. Sridhar was disappointed over the fact that the family refused to stand with him during crisis,” officer said.
“Apart from this, he was also facing problem in money flow after the agencies attached his property worth over Rs 160 crore as per guideline value. It is not easy to live in hiding, unless there is steady flow of money,” officer noted.
Devendran had told the police that all these issues had forced Sridhar to think of ending his life and off-late he used to talk more about committing suicide.
Devendran, who was with Sridhar when latter committed suicide in Cambodia on October 4, landed in Bengaluru on Tuesday night and was detained by the immigration officials.
