Bird-hit flight makes emergency landing in Chennai
A Doha-bound IndiGo flight with 141 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Chennai International Airport on Thursday morning, following a bird hit soon after take-off.

Due to preacutionary measures, the pilots, decided to return to the airport within minutes of its take-off at 1.45 am and contacted the Air Traffic Control room in Chennai.
After a thorough examination, engineers informed IndiGo that the plane needed immediate servicing and a clearance from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to fly again. The passengers later flew to Doha on a separate flight at 4.30 am. DGCA has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile, 282 passengers who were waiting to board an Emirates flight to Dubai were irked since the flight, supposed to take off at 9.45 am, was delayed due to a glitch. It finally took off at 3:55 pm.
