Child witnesses man’s suicide, alerts mother

The deceased, Ramraj, is said to be unemployed, while his wife Anitha Meena (29) is a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer posted at Tambaram railway station. 

The couple from Rajasthan have a girl child. They used to quarrel frequently over Ramraj’s unemployment. On Sunday too, there was an altercation between them after which Anitha left for duty. In the afternoon, dejected Ramraj hanged in the house in front of his child. After the kid alerted her mother over phone, Anitha reached home and sent Ramraj to a private hospital. But he was declared brought dead.

An 18-year-old girl ended her life after her parents allegedly opposed to her relationship with a man. The deceased, Sudha (18) of Hasthinapuram near Chromepet was employed in a textile showroom and fell in love with Venkatraman (24). 

On Sunday evening, Sudha told her parents about her relationship, but reportedly her father Kothandaraman didn’t agree. Dejected over this, she committed suicide by hanging in her room on Sunday night. Her body has been sent to Chromepet GH for post-mortem and Chitlapakkam police are investigating.
