In his complaint, CDS Babu claimed that Dhasvanth, the alleged rapist-killer of Hasini, had come up to him, asking him not to appear in court again and if he did so, Babu’s son would be killed. Chengalpet police said that they have assured protection for Babu and his family when they go to court.

The Chengalpattu Mahila Court, which is hearing the Hasini murder case, has framed charges against Dhasvanth and the trial is expected to commence on December 5. Following Hasini’s death, Babu shifted his family to Andhra after being threatened by Dhasvanth’s family.

In February, Hasini, who was playing in her apartment complex in Mugalivakkam went missing. Her parents filed a case with the Mangadu police. Dhasvanth, 22, who was a neighbour, had allegedly lured the girl into his house and sexually assaulted her. He suffocated Hasini to death and burnt her body.
