Anti-vice squad rescues woman in Valasaravakkam

The anti-vice squad of Central Crime Branch on Tuesday night arrested two men and rescued a woman.

Police said that the duo, Naresh (23) and Ravi (32) of Andhra Pradesh, forced the victim into flesh trade and were arrested during the night patrol in Valasaravakkam. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody, while the rescued woman has been sent to a government home.

Burglar enters house, snatches woman’s chain 

In a daring incident, an unidentified burglar entered a house through the back door in Magaral village near Uthiramerur and snatched a six-sovereign gold chain from a woman. The victim Punitha (31) is a housewife, her husband Bhaskaran (35) is a principal land surveyor at Ponneri taluk. The incident took place around 3 am. Punitha immediately shouted for help, but the robber managed to flee the place. Police have registered a case and further investigation is on.

Missing Class 9 girl found dead

A 14-year-old girl of Vanganur village in Pallipattu, who went missing on November 19, was found dead on Wednesday in a pond. The deceased, Bhavani, is a Class 9 student of the government school in the village.While RK Pet police registered a person-missing case based on her father Rajendran’s complaint. The residents of the village are shocked over her suspicious death. Police is investigating whether it is a suicide or a murder.
