The accused were identified as Sathish (28), Duraibabu (32), Suresh (30), Bharathidasan (28), Veeraraghavan (25) and Naresh (24). They helped Dhanika alias Dhanikachalam, late don Sridhar Dhanapal's aide in making the country bomb. A group of men led by Dhanikachalam threw country bombs at Sridhar's driver Dinesh.
While the incident created panic in the locality, Dinesh surrendered at Vishnu Kanchi police. While he was arrested, police launched a hunt for Dhanikachalam and traced him to Arakonam a few days later. Based on his inputs, the six have been nabbed. More arrests are expected.
