Drunken brawl: Man held for killing friend

A tiff broke out between the accused, Ranganathan and the deceased Senthilkumar (34) of Madurai when they were consuming liquor on Triplicane High Road along with two other friends Inayath Ullah and Meenakshi Sundaram. In the fight, the other three smashed Senthilkumar's head with a stone and also stabbed him with a broken liquor bottle. Senthilkumar, who was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, died without responding to treatment on Tuesday. Triplicane police changed the case into murder and arrested Senthilkumar of Triplicane.
