Millennials go the app-way to keep New Year resolve

Technology has slipped into every facet of our lives. Even when it comes to New year’s resolutions, millennials are turning to mobile applications. There are several apps available online that motivate users to keep up their resolve.

For instance, My New Year’s Resolutions List that was last updated on December 22, 2017, lets one keep track of one’s resolutions and also motivates one to stick with them. The users must write down all their resolutions and their plan of action. When the target is achieved, the users are rewarded with a motivational quote and if abandoned, the app presents a quote to get them back to work. An app called iCan motivates the user when he needs it the most, by helping him stay on track by showing the progress made in marching towards the goal. 

Welcome 2018 is another app where people can post their new year resolutions and see what others have decided to do in 2018. Fitness, savings, learning new languages are some of the most sort-after apps this time. “This year, I have decided to learn Spanish and have downloaded this app called HelloTalk that allows one to learn a learn language in an innovative way. Through this, I will be connected to native speakers and can chat with them for free. The app also has tools that makes the experience interactive,” says Nisha M, a stylist. 

Pravin Kumar, a fitness enthusiast plans to take fitness very seriously next year. “I have downloaded My Fitness Pal that tracks what you’re eating and counts the calories. It will help in keeping my diet in check.” 

Social media expert Sathya Narayanan, says, “Fitness is on top of almost everybody’s to-do list. There are numerous apps that can assist people in achieving their goals. There are also apps that help users manage their savings, because most of us want to be more responsible with our money. Interestingly, most of these apps see a hike in downloads around the time of New Years.”
