During the in-camera trial, three witnesses were cross examined, and the case was further posted for hearing to January 8. He was produced in the court amid tight security.
It may be recalled that Dashwanth, while being produced at Chengalpet Mahila court in connection with the case on December 13, had told the court that he had murdered the girl. However, last week he claimed he had not committed any crime.
Apart from Hasini case, Dashwanth is also accused in the murder of his mother on December 2 after which he escaped to Mumbai with her jewellery. The police traced him to Mumbai, but he escaped from their custody. The police team had re-arrested him in 24 hours and brought him to Chennai.
He had allegedly raped and murdered the girl in February this year while he was living in Mugalivakkam in an apartment with his family.
