Wi-Fi, robot to feature at Chennai Book Fair
The 41st edition of the Chennai Book Fair beginning on January 10, will feature 708 stalls, meet-the authors sessions, Wi-Fi connectivity and even a robot.

To be inaugurated by Minister of School Education, K A Sengottaian, it will be held at St George Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School grounds.
This year, there are 376 participants . The highlight, however, is the robot.
“This year, we are introducing the robot for both educational purposes and to facilitate services in the fair,” said TS Srinivasan, Treasurer, Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).
Another feature is the separate stalls on books for visually impaired persons, as well as on environment and pollution control, food, cinema, health, music and construction.
During the 13-day fair, traditional musical events will be conducted for the public. A huge statue of Tiruvalluvar will be inaugurated by the Minister for Tamil Development, K Pandiarajan, on January 11.
Facilities at the fair have been ramped up this year. Two ATM machines have been installed on the campus, while debit and credit card swiping machines have been made available in 15 locations. Mobile phone charging facilities have been provided and wheelchairs will also be available for persons with disabilities. Internet facilities and safety lockers have also been made available.
