He had added the new picture on Friday afternoon and many of FB friends had liked it and posted congratulatory messages. With the photo that has the words ‘Jat Raj’ inscribed on the picture, it may be understood that he is trying his best to be a hero among the Jat community.

It may be noted that Chennai police and Rajasthan police are trying to nab Nathuram for weeks, without any result. Chennai police sources said that a new police team, which is currently in Rajasthan, is closely co-ordinating with the police there to trap Nathuram.

On December 13 morning, when the Chennai police team went to nab Nathuram in lime stone quarry, inspector Munisekhar accidentally shot inspector Periyapandian, resulting in latter’s death. The botched-up operation had caused a lot of confusion among the Chennai police circle, as Munisekhar initially claimed that his gun was used by someone in Nathuram’s gang to shoot Periyapandian. Later, the Rajasthan police pointed fingers at Munisekhar after getting forensic and ballistic reports.

Nathuram, who escaped from the scene immediately after the midnight raid by the Chennai police, had been dodging the police for nearly four weeks now. Rajasthan police had arrested all his associates, including his wife, for attacking Chennai police team.

On November 16, during daytime, Nathuram and his associates had drilled a hole on the roof of jewellery shop in ground floor in Kolathur after hiring the room in the first floor. When the jewellery shop owner went for lunch, his team drilled the hole, slipped inside and took away 3.5 kg of gold, silver articles and Rs 2 lakh cash. The gang had walked away with all the valuables in gunny bags.
