Phone snatching duo caught on camera held

One of them has been identified as S Kishorekumar (20) of Mylai Balaji Nagar in Pallikaranai while another person is a juvenile from the same locality. Three mobile phones and a two-wheeler were seized from them.

Police said the duo made more three similar attempts on the same day and were arrested based on one of the complaints. With the help of the number plate recorded on CCTV, we checked the other footage available in the locality and traced the snatchers, said Velachery inspector. According to police, the two were school dropouts and was addicted to ganja.

They involved in cell phone snatching from women and elderly persons to meet their expenses and have been caught for the first time, said an official.

While Kishorekumar was remanded in judicial custody, the minor boy has been sent to juvenile home, added police sources.
