Man jumps from RK Salai flyover, lands on moving car
A car driver passing by RK Salai was in for a shock when a young man, who jumped from the flyover in a suicide attempt, landed on the vehicle, late on Sunday night.

Had S Vasanth (31) jumped from the flyover on RK Salai near Music Academy a few moments earlier, he could have been run over by the car on which he landed.
According to police, Vasanth was apparently dejected that his marriage was delayed, and decided to end his life as he was returning on an auto-rickshaw from Royapettah after meeting a friend on Sunday night. When the auto reached the flyover, Vasanth jumped out of the moving vehicle and leapt from the flyover, said police, quoting the auto driver.
Meanwhile, Junaid, a resident of Secretariat Colony, Kilpauk, was coming on his car through the road below. Vasanth landed on the front portion of the car, breaking the windshield and damaging the hood. He suffered severe injuries to his face, head and shoulder, but managed to escape from being run over by a whisker.
Vasanth is now undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and is said to be out of danger now.
A diploma holder from Tiruvalluvar Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur, Vasanth was working as a dance master, police said. He has been booked under Section 309 (attempted suicide) of IPC.
