Besides his family, friends and neighbours, members from Vidya Sagar school, where Pravin was an alumnus, came together for a candle light vigil on Monday evening to pay respect to the 26-year-old who went missing and was killed in an accident.

“We had set up search teams as soon as we learned that he was missing. However, though he was killed in an accident the following day, we received no information, and continued our search till we finally got the news of his death four days later. The police were merely sitting on the case,” said an activist and staff at Vidya Sagar.

She added that they received many calls from persons stating that they had seen him at different locations. “However, no one thought it important to engage him and let us talk to him,” she added.

“Special care must be taken of such children as they are more vulnerable that the rest. It is important to sensitise the public, police and the government,” added his mother Shakti.
