Police have booked 13 persons in connection with the case, with the rest of the students remaining at large.
Police sources said Railways IG A G Pon Manickavel has called for a meeting with all railway inspectors to discuss steps to prevent such incidents in future.
Speaking to DT Next, Pachaiyappa’s College Principal S Kaliraj said that the students who were part of the clash would be suspended as soon as they receive a formal complaint from police. “The college administration is mulling on dismissing such students,” he said.
Meanwhile, a few train passengers opined that unlike the bus routes where the college students’ clash have been curbed to a large extent due to close monitoring by the police, the railway police are turning a blind eye on such activities.
