Raj Bhavan will now welcome visitors throughout the week

“With an intention to encourage the common people to visit Raj Bhavan, Chennai, it has been decided to keep the gates of Raj Bhavan open for visitors on all days of the month between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm,” said the statement. 

From Friday, battery-operated vehicles would take visitors through the sprawling premises, it added. 

“Visitors will be able see the Durbar Hall where the swearing-in ceremonies take place; the Presidential Guest House which houses the VIP guests; the lawns of Raj Bhavan where the deer and the black buck mingle and play happily along; and the main building which houses the office of the Governor,” added the statement.

Also included in the tour is a visit to the forest areas and also the polo ground. Those interested may log on to tnrajbhavan.gov.in to register.
