YouTube FanFest Chennai will feature performances by Singhs Unplugged, Team Naach, Put Chutney, Madras Meter, Agam with Kappa TV, Smile Settai, Black Sheep, 1 KG Biryani, Eruma Saani and Evam Stand-up Tamasha. The fest will start from Hyderabad and will go on to tour Chennai, Bengaluru (March 10), Delhi (March 17) and finally Mumbai (March 23).
Ram K of Smile Settai said, “We have been part of the Fanfest that was organised in Mumbai and Hyderabad respectively and glad to know that it has arrived here. They have realised that there is a lot of content that comes from the South and they have to tap this market here. It will also be a great platform for everyone from the digital fraternity come together and share ideas.”
Satya Raghavan, Entertainment Head, YouTube in India, said, “Last year, we only had 12 creators with 1 million subscribers. This year that number has grown to 100. That’s 7 creators crossing 1 million subscribers every single month. What’s even more incredible is the diverse nature of the platform that welcomes creators from all parts of the country. We are seeing more creators coming from smaller cities and finding a nationwide and global audience on YouTube.”
