Senior manager of Heavy Vehicles Factory convicted in illegal assets case
A special CBI court sentenced the Joint General Manager of Heavy Vehicles Factory and his wife to two years in jail and a fine of Rs 75,000 each in illegal assets case.

The special court for CBI cases convicted Joint General Manager of Heavy Vehicles Factory on Wednesday in a disproportionate assets case involving over Rs 2 crore.
A Murugan, the Special Judge for CBI cases convicted P Narasimhan, the Joint General Manager of Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi and his wife Dr N Malathi for assets acquired illegally in the former’s name during his tenure at the Central Government institution.
The Anti-Corruption branch of CBI in Chennai had investigated the crime and filed chargesheets against Narasimham and his wife.
The CBI had alleged that the assets were acquired illegally in Narasimhan’s name and that of his family members between January 1, 2003 and December 5, 2007.
The assets were found to be well worth over Rs 2.70 crores and were found to be disproportionate to his income and not accounted for satisfactorily.
After the trial, the accused were convicted and sentenced to two years and oneyear rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 75,000 each.
