Couple held for duping teachers
The city Central Crime Branch sleuths have arrested a couple from Villupuram for cheating 75 temporary teachers at government schools to the tune of Rs 65 lakh, promising to regularise their employment.

Balakumar (38) and Kalaiyarasi (28), were arrested based on a complaint submitted by Harikrishnan (26) with the city Police Commissionerate. The Central Crime Branch investigated the matter and arrested them.
Sources in the police department said the couple received more than Rs 1 lakh each from the teachers, promising them to make their jobs permanent. Further investigation is on.
