Modi will reach the venue by road from Defence Expo around 1 pm and will leave for the airport at 2 pm, again by road, according to a press release from Delhi. As per the PM’s itinerary, he would reach Chennai around 9.25 am from New Delhi in Indian Air Force’s BBJ aircraft and will leave for Mamallapuram in a helicopter from the old airport premise to inaugurate the Defence Expo.
From Mamallapuram, he will reach the expo venue by road and the inauguration is scheduled for 12 pm. Since the entire state is on the boil over delay in constitution of Cauvery Management Board and following opposition from protesters for PM’s visit to Chennai, security measures are being tightened for Modi’s visit.
