KV principal held by CBI in bribery case in Chennai

A principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chennai was arrested by CBI for demanding and accepting a bribe from a parent of child applied for admission.

The arrested was identified as E Ananthan, pricipal of Ashok Nagar, KV.

He allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from a parent of Dalit student seeking admission for first standard throught right to education quota.

Sources said the parent preferred a complaint with anti-corruption branch of Chennai CBI, which trapped the principal of the KV on Monday night while accepting the bribe.

He is currently being questioned in his official residence inside school campus sources said adding that he would be remanded soon.
