Robinson (69) had left Tirunelveli and boarded an Etihad flight from Chennai to London vai Abu Dhabi, sources said. He had informed the Vallioor police station by an e-mail that he was leaving, as he was told by the court to ‘inform’ the police before going out of station.
It may be recalled that Robinson who had left the country in the past, was forced to return and face trial. The victim, a Class 11 boy, was sexually abused by Robinson when they went on a countrywide trip in April 2011. When Robinson escaped from India then, the Judicial Magistrate issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. The police had then followed it up with a Red-corner notice.
After the Madras High Court directed the police to withdraw the Red-corner notice to enable Robinson to return to India and face trial, he surrendered before the magistrate on November 27, 2015.
