Noting how every second counts during an emergency where the first responder plays a crucial role to save lives, Dr Mohammed Kaleemuddin Papa, a founding member of the humanitarian Outreach Initiative (HOI), said: “We intend to impart world-class training and hold mass awareness programmes to empower the public in emergency response skills, disaster preparedness and mitigation.”

“It will empower the common man to transform into an effective and efficient first responder during an emergency,” added Dr Srihari Cattamanchi, co-founder of the initiative and a former health delegate and emergency specialist with the International Committee of the Red Cross (Gaza Strip) and adjunct professor at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute.

The first batch of CFRC, certified by SRMC, will start in May, added Dr Junior Papa, the brain behind the responders training programme.
