Tamil Nadu student ranked 21st in JEE-Mains exam
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Mains for admissions to engineering colleges across the country, Paper I on Monday. A student from Tamil Nadu, R Uma, who stood first in the state, came 21st in the country. Uma secured 335 marks in the exam.

The result of JEE (Main) 2018, and the cut-off for eligibility to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2018 are available on the CBSE website. The offline examination for JEE was held on April 8 and the online test was conducted on April 15 and 16 at more than 350 centres across the country.
Vijaywada’s Bhogi Suraj Krishna topped the exam in which over 2.3 lakh students, including more than 50,000 girls, qualified the test. Over 11 lakh candidates had registered for the exam and a total of 10.74 lakh candidates had appeared for the test.
The results for JEE main paper II are expected to be announced on Tuesday. The registration process for JEE Advanced 2018 would start from May 2 and the examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 20.
