Posing as cops, duo cheat woman

The victim Aprija Devi, a resident of Amman Koil Street in Mudichur, was returning home after visiting her daughter in KK Nagar when two men posing as policemen approached her. 

They informed her that there was an unrest in the locality following a murder, and advised her that it was not safe for her to walk alone wearing a gold chain. Believing them, the woman removed her gold chain, which they then wrapped in a paper and asked her to keep it safe in her bag. 

After reaching home, Aprija found small stones inside the paper and realised that she was cheated. She filed a complaint at Peerkankaranai police station, who are investigating.
