Man arrested for sexually abusing niece

Gayathiri (name change) is living with her husband at Indira Nagar. The accused Jayavelu started staying at their house recently. In the past few days, he threatened Gayathiri to extort money from her to buy liquor.

He also came home in an inebriated state and verbally abused her several times.

On Sunday, when Gayathiri refused to give money, he allegedly attempted to sexually abuse her. Hearing her cries, neighbours arrived at the spot and locked him inside the house.

On information, police officers arrested Jayavelu.

During investigation, police found that Jayavelu had indulged in several crimes along with notorious criminal Auto Sankar and was released after the jailterm recently.
