Karti’s CAs deny charges of Taxmen

In a statement here, R Balachandran, who is the Chartered Accountant for Karti P Chidambaram, his wife Srinidhi and Chess Global Advisory Services Private Limited, said the Income-tax returns were prepared on the advice of the Chartered Accountants. “The investments in question were made through bank remittances. They were duly disclosed in the returns of income filed under Section 139 of the Income-tax Act for the relevant assessment year,” he added. “It is totally wrong to allege there was willful failure to disclose the investments,” Balachandran said, adding, “The returns of income were a complete answer to the baseless allegation.”

Nalini Chidambaram’s Chartered Accountant Rajagopal and Badri Narayanan also issued a similar statement.
